Cancer Research UK Early Detection Funding Schemes
Published on: 4 Dec 2018
Cancer Research UK has created the Early Detection Research Committee with the remit to enable the detection of cancer at the earliest possible time at which an intervention might be made.
To encourage and enable the development of new technologies that could help this aim the Early Detection Committee has set up several funding schemes.
The schemes are listed below in the order of submission deadlines:
Early Detection Primer Award supports researchers at all stages to develop early, novel ideas and collaborations to build and make progress in the early detection of cancer. The funding is up to £100k over 1 year.
Deadline: 7 March 2019
Early Detection Programme Award is aimed at established researchers to perform large research programmes which have the potential to transform early cancer detection. The funding is up to £2.5 million over 5 years.
Deadline: 28 March 2019
CRUK-OHSU Spark Award provides seed funding for research in collaboration with Oregon Health and Sciences University scientists to support the development of new partnerships. The funding is up to £20,000, plus $20,000 for OHSU-based researchers over 1 year.
Deadline: 20 June 2019
CRUK-OHSU Project Award funds new and existing collaborations in early detection between researchers in the UK and at Oregon Health and Sciences University. The funding is up to £250,000 plus $300,000 for OHSU-based researchers over 2 years.
Deadline: 20 June 2019
