Sign-Up for the VOC Atlas

Included in the Atlas are a subset of VOCs detectable in a heterogeneous human cohort, which provide a useful baseline to streamline breath biomarker discovery and validation, for example, to identify VOC targets that are likely to be impacted by the disease process of interest.

The initial cohort data entered into the Atlas was structured to include subjects with no specific pathophysiology across a range of ages and ethnic backgrounds to assess the composition, and “normal” variation in the composition of human breath. Now, the Atlas encompasses data from a variety of disease cohorts to gain a broader view of the VOC composition of breath under a range of contexts.  

The Atlas has VOC data from over 100 diseases like colorectal cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD, and liver cirrhosis to provide a more detailed understanding of human breath as a platform for biomarker analysis. The Atlas can support researchers and the wider breath research community through its search interface, and presents high-confidence VOCs alongside their clinical, chemical, and biological context.  

In upcoming months we will be making specific Atlas data/functionality accessible, through our new partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  Upcoming releases will include literature references for breath-related compounds and heterogeneous human ranges.  We aim to make Atlas a rich repository of breath-related data for external researchers, while respecting the terms and privacy of our partnerships and volunteers.  Fill in the form below to gain access to the Atlas when available.
