Food: The Main Course aims to provide dietitians and nutritionists with a foundation in the pathophysiology, diagnosis and medical management of common, as well as, complex gastrointestinal diseases and disorders.

The conference objectives are:

  • To summarize the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and medical management of several GI diseases and disorders.

  • Review and summarize the current research related to diet and nutrition for common GI disorders.

  • Develop the clinical skills necessary to appropriately assess, implement, and monitor a nutritional care plan (NCP) for the patient with a gastrointestinal disease.

  • Discover emerging therapies and cutting-edge research related to GI disorders and diseases.

Meet The Team

Mr. Carlson is the Chief Commercial Officer of OMED Health, the patient-facing division of Owlstone Medical.  He is a seasoned commercial executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in clinical diagnostics, medical devices, and analytical instrumentation. Known for launching innovative diagnostics in GI, oncology, and immunology, Robert combines strategic vision with hands-on execution in sales, marketing, and business development. He holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California San Diego and advanced certifications in chemistry and leadership.
